Through our donor support, we are proud to present monetary awards to recognized officers. Presentations are made at the Lynchburg Police Department.
Officer of the Month
The Lynchburg Police Department’s internal awards committee selects an Officer of the Month based on outstanding performance and the Foundation awards $100 to the officer.
Officer of the Quarter
The Foundation’s board of directors chooses the Officer of the Quarter from the previous three-monthly award recipients and contributes $400 to the officer.
Officer of the Year
Assessing the previous Officer of the Quarter recipients, the Foundation’s board of directors selects the Officer of the Year and awards the recipient $1,000.
Annual Awards Banquet
During National Police Week, the Lynchburg Police Department hosts an annual awards banquet to recognize officers and staff for their achievements and service to the community. The Foundation supports the event with cost assistance.
Professional Staff of the Quarter
Successful policing requires both sworn officers and dedicated professional staff. The Police Department’s internal awards committee identifies a professional staff member each quarter and the Foundation contributes $200 to the individual.

In addition to our regular recognition programs, the Foundation provides officers with end-of-year gift cards, appreciation lunches, and more to reflect citizen appreciation for the Lynchburg Police.
We Care
The We Care program focuses on Lynchburg Police Officers, Professional Staff, and their families on a more personal level. We Care is a way for the Foundation and the community to further show its gratitude for the work the officers and staff do daily.
