Kim Loyd Retires After 36 Years

Kim Loyd’s career in public safety began in 1990. Over the decades, she has served our community in multiple roles as an Emergency Communications Officer, a member of the Lynchburg Sheriff’s Office, and as one of LPD’s trusted Property and Evidence Clerks.

For 25 years, Kim was a steady and dependable presence in the Emergency Communications Center. In some of life’s most critical moments, she was the voice on the other end of the line, guiding callers through emergencies and making sure help got where it needed to be. Her work helped save lives.

In Property and Evidence, Kim continued that impact behind the scenes, protecting victims and supporting cases with care, precision, and a deep sense of responsibility.

Thirty-six years of service. Countless lives impacted. A career defined by commitment, resilience, and heart.

Thank you, Kim, for everything you’ve given to this community.
