Foundation provided protective cases for Narcan kits

NARCAN® Nasal Spray is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of an opioid emergency such as an overdose.

Police Officers frequently come into contact with a variety of synthetic opioids that pose a safety risk of overdose from accidental exposure. Cost of a two-dose kit is ~$125.

In 2018, through actions of the Foundation the Virginia Department of Health was identified as a source of these kits and agreed to provide an initial supply at no costs. The Foundation covered the $3,250 cost of protective cases for the kits.
