Rick Read
Rick Read is a seasoned real estate broker and developer, based in Forest, VA. With over four decades of experience in the industry, Rick has established himself as a prominent figure in the Central Virginia commercial real estate market.
In 1977, Rick entered the real estate business and later joined Forehand and Company. Under his leadership, the company flourished, becoming a leading force in the Northeast Region. In 2010, Rick acquired the commercial division of Forehand & Company and rebranded it as Coldwell Banker Commercial Read & Co., solidifying its position in the market.
Alongside his real estate endeavors, Rick is also a co-owner of Torrence, Read & Forehand Auctions, which he established in 1998 in collaboration with Mike Torrence. The company specializes in conducting auctions for farms, land, estates, and equipment, and has emerged as the premier auction company in Central Virginia.
Rick holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Lynchburg, graduating in 1976. Throughout his career, he has continuously pursued advanced real estate courses and seminars to stay updated with the latest industry trends and practices.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Rick actively engages in community service. He serves on the boards of One Community One Voice, Lynchburg Police Foundation, and holds the chairmanship of Safe Schools Lynchburg, demonstrating his commitment to the well-being and progress of the community.
