Richard “Rick” Loving

Richard W. Loving is senior vice president and chief administrative officer for BWX Technologies, Inc. overseeing human resources, communications, security and environmental health & safety functions.

Before rejoining BWXT in 2016 as the senior vice president, Human Resources, Mr. Loving served as the senior director of International Human Resources at McDermott Incorporated. During his tenure at McDermott, he served as the global director, HR Business Services and the senior director, Human Resources – Middle East, India & Caspian responsible for all human capital activities within the region.

Mr. Loving has more than 40 years of experience with manufacturing, energy and government operations. He began his career at Babcock and Wilcox (B&W) in Lynchburg holding positions in safety, security, community relations and human resources at several facilities across the organization.

Mr. Loving holds a Master of Arts in personnel management and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Lynchburg College.

Mr. Loving has been actively involved in a number of professional and civic organizations in communities where he has lived to include the United Way, Habitat for Humanity, American Cancer Society, LSC Education Foundation, Central Virginia Criminal Justice Academy, USO (Dubai) and local Chambers of Commerce. He currently serves in leadership positions on several boards of directors including the Academy Center of the Arts, Lynchburg Police Foundation and the Virginia College Fund.

A Lynchburg native and a proud supporter of the local community, Mr. Loving served as an officer at the Lynchburg Police Department from 1976 to 1979.
