Your donations make a difference locally. Here are some recent stories of Narcan use:

January 30, 2022

Detective Bragg and Officer Harris responded to a reported overdose (male subject unresponsive and barely breathing). Detective Bragg arrived and saw obvious signs of heroin use and found the subject to be unresponsive. Det. Bragg administered Narcan and was able to successfully revive the subject. He was transported to the ER for further treatment.

January 8, 2022

Officers responded to a reported overdose. The caller stated that a female subject had just injected heroin and was not breathing well. Officer Pupillo was first on scene and gave two doses of Narcan to the subject who was struggling to breathe. Medics arrived and administered more Narcan before she became alert. She was transported to the ER for further treatment.

December 23, 2021

Officers Waterman and Iazzi observed a vehicle parked at a convenience store. Approximately one hour later, Officers Waterman and Iazzi noticed the vehicle was still parked at the convenience store. The vehicle displayed two separate VA license plates not belonging to the vehicle and appeared to have had the VIN plate removed. While investigating, Officer Waterman observed a used needle in plain view and a hand-written note on the dash of the vehicle. Due to concerning statements made in the note, Officers became concerned for the subject they had previously seen inside the vehicle. Officers Waterman and Iazzi located the male subject inside the restroom. Officers continued investigating and discovered methamphetamine and heroin/fentanyl inside the vehicle. The male was placed under arrest and transported to jail where he became unconscious. Officers immediately began life-saving measures and administered multiple doses of Narcan. The male was transported to the ER.

December 10, 2021

Officer Donellan observed a male subject asleep at the wheel of his vehicle. The male was found to be unresponsive. Officer Donellan administered two doses of Narcan and began CPR. Det. Dubie administered a third dose, which was effective. The male was transported to the ER for treatment.

Officer Skillman observed a subject attempting to give chest compressions to an unresponsive male. Officer Skillman administered one dose of Narcan which proved effective. He was transported to LGH.
