“The Lynchburg Police Department recently celebrated 25 years of dedicated service by Amy McDaniel, Emergency Communication Center Director of Operations.
Amy began her career as a dispatcher on evening shift before moving to midnight shift, where she continued to grow her skills and develop a strong passion for leadership. Guided by exceptional mentors, she embraced every opportunity to learn, lead, and serve.
In 2008, Amy was promoted to Shift Supervisor, where she provided steady support, guidance, and encouragement to her team. In 2011, she joined the Personnel and Training Division, overseeing recruitment and personnel operations for the Emergency Communications Center.
By August 2019, Amy’s hard work and commitment led to her promotion as Deputy Director, and she continues to serve today as the ECC Director of Operations.
