Mike Staley

Mike started his career at the Lynchburg Police Department in 1979 as a Police Cadet. He was promoted to Police Officer in 1981. He served in numerous units throughout the department. Mike has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of the Southern Police Institutes, Administrative Officers Program. Mike retired as a Lieutenant in 2012 and was on the Tactical Unit for 27 years, 12 of those years as a Team Leader. He continues to work at the LPD as the Off Duty Coordinator.

He has been a longtime member and officer of the Exchange Club of Lynchburg, a Non profit community service organization. Mike became excited about joining the Foundation because he saw first hand, the positive impact their programs were having within the department and in the community.
