Kennith Edwards
Ken Edwards joined the Lynchburg Police Department on February 8, 1996. He has been promoted through the ranks within the Police Department to his current position where he serves as Deputy Chief of the Field Operations Bureau. During his career, Edwards has served in Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Professional Standards, and has been a Tactical Unit Team Leader as well as Crisis Negotiations Team Commander.
Edwards is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and is a member of the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA) Virginia Chapter. Edwards served as an executive board member of the FBINAA Virginia Chapter (2008-2015) and is a past president of the FBINAA Virginia Chapter (2014/2015). Edwards is a graduate of the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police, Professional Executive Leadership School, the Police Executive Research Forum’s, Senior Management Institute for Police, and the Force Science Institute. Edwards is a certified member of the International Association of Hostage Negotiators.
Edwards is a graduate of Leadership Lynchburg’s, Executive Forum and is a member of the Leadership Lynchburg Council. Edwards is also a member of the Exchange Club of Lynchburg and served as an executive board member from July 2015 until June 2017.
