Jane Pearson

Jane B. Pearson has been a dedicated educator, leader, and mentor in the field of nursing and allied health education. Her extensive experience in both academic and clinical settings has shaped the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Jane’s career began in 1973 as a Registered Nurse at Duke University Medical Center and Louise Obici Hospital, where she honed her clinical expertise. In 1976, she transitioned into academia, joining the Lynchburg General Hospital School of Nursing as a Lead Instructor. Over the next 30 years, she played a pivotal role in nursing education, teaching Fundamentals of Nursing and Medical-Surgical Nursing, while also mentoring aspiring nurses.

In 2007, Jane stepped into leadership as the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Student Affairs at Centra College of Nursing, where she worked to enhance student support and academic success. Her passion for education led her to Central Virginia Community College, where she served as an Adjunct Professor and later as a Program Coordinator in the Allied Health Department and Associate Professor of Health Courses. She retired from her esteemed academic career in 2019, leaving a lasting impact on nursing education in the region.

Jane’s academic achievements reflect her commitment to lifelong learning. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from East Carolina University in 1973, followed by a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Lynchburg College in 1984. Furthering her expertise, she obtained a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Liberty University in 2006.
