Al Thomas

Al Thomas serves as Executive Vice President of Operations and Business Development for Tru Vantage Solutions Inc., providing technology and security systems integration and support services to federal agencies nationwide. His experience spans organizational leadership, operations management, federal contracting, project management, and business development.

 Al’s law enforcement career includes 20 years as a Captain with the Lynchburg Police Department and a combined nine years as Chief of Police for the Lexington and Charlottesville Police Departments.

 A U.S. Air Force combat veteran, Al holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a minor in Computer Information Systems, from Averett University and a bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice from LaSalle University. He is a graduate of the Administrative Officers Management Program at North Carolina State University and the Professional Executive Leadership School at the University of Richmond. He also graduated from the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (LEEDA).

 Al looks forward to bringing his public and private sector experience to the Lynchburg Police Foundation to support its fundraising efforts, strengthen community partnerships, and recognize the dedication and service of the members of the Lynchburg Police Department.
